Mission: To use data science and machine learning to transform the way we make decisions
Throughout my life, I've had the opportunity to explore a variety of jobs and cities.
From Beijing to Los Angeles, from a Fortune 500 company to a Y Combinator funded startup, I've been exposed to
a remarkable number of interesting people and opportunities.
It wasn't until recently that I realized how data science offers a perfect blend of all my interests - programming, data, and story-telling. As a result I'm spending more and more time learning about machine learning, data engineering, data visualization and data analytics in pursuit of a full time data science role upon graduating in April 2019.
My long term aim is to apply data science and machine learning to personal information in order to leverage machine intelligence to extract insights, automate decisions and improve personal decision-making, leading people to focus on what really matters in their life.
I've worked as a McDonalds Swing Manager, run an $86,000 house painting business, worked on growth and strategy in Beijing for IBM, managed the campus ambassador and influencer program for Soylent, and extracted insights as an analyst at Bank of Montreal.

I'm starting my second semester in Computer Science as a junior at Queen's University. The majority of my early semester will be dedicated to finding an internship in data science, machine learning or data engineering ideally in either in San Francisco or Los Angeles.
The projects I'm currently working on are crypto signals, an open source automated technical analysis tool for cryptocurrencies, and Sicana, which is an SMS based service that allows users who lack internet to access facts and crowdsourced answers to common questions as part of the Hult Prize competition.
I'm also doing a deep dive into Data Science, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. Here are some books I'm reading:
Hands-On Machine Learning with Scikit-Learn and TensorFlow: Concepts, Tools, and Techniques to Build Intelligent Systems
Python Machine Learning, 1st Edition
Superintelligence: Paths, Dangers, Strategies
Weapons of Math Destruction
Big Data: A Revolution That Will Transform How We Live, Work, and Think
Turing: Pioneer of the Information Age
Iwoz: Computer Geek To Cult Icon
The last firewall
The Turing Exception
Code: The Hidden Language of Computer Hardware and Software
The Second Machine Age: Work Progress and Prosperity in a Time of Brilliant Technologies
